Last One To Stand (Mary and Frank)

Aemi was standing at the edge of Hueco Mundo, looking off into the distance of the cold, windy night. At where she was, all she could see was the darkness of a never ending abyss below her feet. She was just over the peak of a rocky dune that seemed to be dripping into the trench, but had solidated before completely breaking off. Standing at the edge of it, Aemi looked forward, across the deep closure was land on the other side, but it was as though it was a plateau of sand; it was completely flat and fell into the darkness. The wind was blowing against Aemi's long black hair, and she felt at peace.

Las Noches was may a mile or two away from where she was, and it was in sight of her, but she didn't plan on returning just yet. She was enjoying the silence of the Desert. The cresent moon glowing above her head was lighting the night away for her, guiding her to her paths she wanted to walk. She took a deep breath, consuming the loneliness of the tundra into her heart, which she could feel... the despair which made her grimace.

Turning around and beginning to head back towards Las Noches, she took a few steps into the deep sand which seemed to stifle the sounds of her feet. Her solemn expression never changed as her icy blue eyes gazed in every direction. She heard something coming her way, but wasn't quite sure what it was. She narrowed her eyes... was someone coming? Staying silent and still, she breathed in, "Engage..." she whispered to herself as her left eye began to glow blue. This would help her watch for intense speed and reitsu. Eying everywhere around her, she pursed her lips, wondering where and what was coming.

Aemi could feel the presense of someone behind her, but she wasn't quite sure who it was. She didn't turn, unsure what to say, and waited only to see what he would do. As she waited, she felt his spiritual energy suddenly disperse into nothing and she felt herself relax slightly. He felt stronger than her in a way, but it wasn't by much, she could feel. Turning around, all that was left was the footprints left behind by the stranger from where he stood. With narrowed eyes, she was unsure whether she was to track him down or not; contemplating on whether it is the right idea to get involved with someone who is more powerful than her.

Heading back toward Las Noches, she walked rather slowly, heading in her own direction. In the distance, she could see the ruins of several other buildings around her; from previous wars and the those who just felt the need to destroy. It was a sad world she felt, and she knew nothing of what was going to happen. She took a deep sigh, feeling a bit slowed, as though depressed. Despair was her aspect of death after all, but she tried not to let it get to her head too much... she had to make herself look stronger, and the fact that she was angered so easily... it just didn't add up.

As she walked, she could feel the cold wind against her face, small grains of sand beating against her soft, pale cheeks every now and then. Her solemn expression was unreadable, but her eyes were much grayer than normal. She stopped in the middle of the desert, still far from Las Noches, but took the time to observe where she was. As she looked around, she saw the ruins of a large pillard in the distance... and from what she could feel... someone was there. His spiritual energy was familiar... and she felt it could of been the stranger from before. Her eyes narrowing as she stared at him, she watched him, only standing there, and she would continue to stand there until he would look toward her. Her glownig blue eye was blazing, as though it would erupt more flames from anger, but she didn't feel any rage at all... she just felt nothing at the moment. All she could feel was curiosity and wondered who he was.

Mitsukai continued to think of all the things that he had done wrong, he had a bad past, yes, but that didn't mean that he couldn't allow others to get to know him. He looked up slowly, seeing a blazing blue flame off in the distance, he knew right away it was Aemi, he knew everybody's spiritual pressure. He was unsure whether or not if she was able to comprehend just how much spiritual pressure he had, or if she knew and was approaching him anyway but thanks to his advanced ability to sense spiritual pressure, he just about knew how long she was capable of fighting. Although, spiritual pressure wasn't the matter, she had a presence about her, one that chilled him to the very soul, he felt as if she knew what he was thinking, he was unsure, maybe he was having an off day but nevertheless, he was frightend.

The wind suddendly ceased and it began to feel a little warmer in the air, Mitsukai stood up and looked over towards Aemi with a look of hatred, the next instant, he was standing infront of her, with his sword in his hand. "Aemi, I have no clue why you've come here, most people attempt to avoid me at all costs, so please, state your buisness or leave...otherwise i'll have to make your next breath, your very last". The tears he had recently shed were dried on his face, he was holding them back, underneath the bandages he was still crying, just unkown to everyone else. Mitsukai let go of the hold on his spiritual pressure, causing nearby buildings to crack and sand to float upwards, he really was unsual today.

Aemi watched as he appeared before her with his sword unsheathed. She kept her face emotionless as she stared at him with a cold, glowering gaze. She kept her lips pursed together, staying incredibly still, the only movement was the breaths through her nimble chest. Looking down at his sword with no surprise in her face, she looked back at him and tilted her head.

"I would of expected nothing less from the Primera Espada, hm? Why the long face? You'd kill me just for walking by and noticing you? How unfortunate for me," she sighed, but inside her mind, she was smirking. She could feel his anger in a way, feel his fear. She could feel his despair. She looked back at him as her worried expression changed back to her normal expressionless phase, "Very well... if that's how you treat visitors..." she unsheathed her Zanpakutou, then sonidoing several feet away, her expressionless face very slowly forming into a sadistic sneer, "...Let's see which one is really number one, shall we?"

Aemi watched as he had pushed an intense force into the ground around himself and a mist of sand and smoke had began to suffice into the entire area. Aemi watched her surroundings for a long moment as sand began to engulf her, causing it to be difficult to see. She pursed her lips, thinking for a long moment on what she can do. She quickly sheathed her sword once more; she'll leave that for later. She looked around before finally closing her eyes; allowing her focus to be on her other senses. As she listened around herself, letting her feet stand firmly into the sand, she tried to sense any movement she could, any at all.

She could sense that he was lowering his spiritual pressure, and she nodded; he was trying to make things difficult for her. She understood that this may be a challenge, he was a number higher than her. As she continued to wait, she then could feel as his spiritual pressure raised again... but surrounded her. As the smell of dust filled the air, she tightened her lip, My my... this boy seems to understand my senses are great importance... how interesting, she thought to herself as she continued to wait.

As the time passed, she continued to listen around herself. This was beginning to get rather messy in her opinion, the entire area was covered by a fog of sand and smoke. She suddenly sensed something coming her way, she could feel vibrations and hear the sound of something coming, her eyes widening as she quickly sonido'd up into the air and out of the smoke. She appeared well over the blast as she noticed that several cero's had collided into each other and she quickly sonido'd away from the area. She waited for the sounds of the explosion to level off, watching from the side as the impact began to form into what seemed to look like a mushroom cloud. She smirked lightly, knowing that he would difinitely be a challenge... something she was looking for.

When the rumbles began to quiet down, she then sonido'd several meters away from Mitsukai, behind him, watching him for a long moment. He most likely knew she was there, but she started to laugh slightly as she formed a cero in her palm, "Sorry, too slow!" she giggled sinisterly, blasting it toward him as she sonido'd away from him afterward once more. She then appeared 20 feet diagnal from him, in his view. She watched to see what he would do with the cero.

In a swift manuever, Mitsukai swing his fist toward the ground, causing the cero to spin out of control and crash. The cero blew a crater in the ground large enough as to where it seemed to be one of his own, interesting. He looked over at Aemi, she was most likely wondering what had happend to her cero, he smirked slightly. "20 feet, Aemi, that's the radius". He left it at that for her to wonder what the few words meant, he figured she would figure them out quickly, she had proved to be smarter than he believed. "Aemi...im tired of messing around, it's boring and this fight has proved quite entertaining, I do not know any of the espada nor their zanpakuto's, so please...release your ressureccion, or allow me to force you into it".

With that, Mitsukai charged up his rieatsu, surrounding him and Aemi in a tornado of sand, he then sonido'd right beside her. The way he sonido'd, there was no pause, no after image, he simply appeared as if he had teleported, his sonido was among the fastes of the espada, afterall. As soon as he appeared, he was already beginning to send two kicks at her, his left leg was heading toward her lower back, his right, towards her head, Mitsukai saw the gap that Aemi could use to manuver through the two kicks and for that, charged a bala in his left hand. Just in case she manuverd, the bala would be able to hit her, the kicks were sent at lightning fast speeds so she wouldn't have to much time to simply dodge it, and if she were to be hit by it...his right leg would completely shatter her skull, his left would shatter her spine. With his spiritual pressure raised, the kicks would also produce a shockwave powerful enough to shatter every bone in her body, there was seemingly no way out and if his attacks hit his mark, a few seconds left in Aemi's life.

As Aemi had listened to him, she wondered to herself what "20 feet radius" had meant. She wondered, was that how far away she had to be to be able to fight him without harm of herself? She took a moment to focus on it, when she then saw Mitsukai chargin his reitsu as sand was swarming about, engulfing the area around them. Her eye focused on him as he appeared before her. Without her eye... she might of actually died by then, but with the help of it, she can engage in his speed, understand his strength, and, hopefully--if her reaction time was fast enough--avoid futile attacks.

She stood still, her eyes widening as if she wasn't sure what was going on. In a split second, she could feel the vibrations of another attack, but it was so fast, she couldn't even see it. She knew something was coming though, and she felt that no matter where she went; there was another attack waiting for her. She felt a sudden breath of panic down her spine, and she really thought--this was it. She wasn't sure what she was going to do at first, thoughts rushing down her head in that split second, but it seemed as though the fear began to build up, and she felt herself slow down, as with everything around her, as if she was seeing her last minutes of life pass by slowly.

She narrowed her eyes, shaking her head, "I don't want to die..." she whispered to herself, and everything sped up slightly, and she could see Mitsukai's legs aiming for her. She grasped the hilt of her Zanpakutou, "No, I can't die yet, Vuelo Fiera!" She screamed as she quickly ducked down, and rolled at an intense speed out of the way, sonido'ing about 10 meters away (about 32 feet).

Aemi stood there, looking normal, as though nothing changed, but now there was a large canon that was eating her arm. She smirked at him, her flaming eye was blazing much hotter than before. She clenched her other hand, which held a larger version of her sword, it appeared to have changed its shape a bit. She kept her gaze on him and shook her head, "That was an impressive move there, Mitsukai, I must say, you have an interesting ammount of speed. Now here's my interesting bit..." she looked down, letting her hair fall over her eyes, "I have the ability to allow my Zanpakutou transform before my resurreccion alters my body. You said you didn't know any of the Espada's Zanpakutou's.... so here is mine. Fiera, the wrath of the Dragon." she glowered at him as her bright blue eyes watched him.

"My Zanpakutou takes the form of a large cannon that slips over my hand like a glove, as well as a sword for my other hand..." she sheathed the sword quickly and laughed slightly, "It's a good thing, too... if I'm to attack you from far away, this will be easy." She started to conjur the spiritual pressure around her into a large, flaming ball that was forming into the cannon, "My bullets I release are as fast as lightning. Try to dodge them, please, it wouldn't be fun if you died so quickly... Veneno Plomo!" she shot the bullet towards him.

Mitsukai's controlled breath turned to a shudder, he felt something he hadn't felt in a long time, not just a small amount, but completely overcome by...fear. The terror that had struck him had slowly crept over him, the more he saw of Aemi's ressureccion, the more fearful he became, he thought it was over, surely a canon like that must have some devastating effects. Then, Aemi fired the venomous bullet, he studied it, it's speed was almost incomprehensible but there was one weakness, it was composed of energy, not an actual bullet. The blue bullet rushed towards him, intimidating him, for awhile, he was frozen, but about 10 ft before the bullet would impact, Mitsukai came back to his senses.

He held both of his hands up, causing the bullet to stop dead in its tracks, and sending a mountain of sand and rubble towards Aemi. He had it under his control, momentarily, although Aemi wouldn't be able to see this, there was too much debris blocking her sight. As long as she was unaware of this power of his, he had the upper hand, he would be able to fight her in her ressureccion with ease, as long as she didn't know about this power. He stared at the flaming blue bullet, suspended in time almost, watching it float, he tried turning it around on her but, the energy was too strong. In fact, he couldn't turn it at all, it was too strong of a technique and he had not yet released enough rieatsu in this area.

Mitsukai studied it for a few seconds, he could feel himself losing control of the bullet, he looked over at the mountain if debris, it was about to end it's arc, but it was still high enough to shield Aemi's view from what he was doing. He decided it was time to let go of his control of the bullet, he walked around it, shifting his hands as he did so, then, brought his hands back and let the bullet contiue on it's trajectory. He sent his gaze towards Aemi's position, he had no idea whether she was still there or not, if she was, she most likely would've been crushed by the pressure, he hadn't realized that by blinding her view of him, he was also blinding his view of her.

Aemi saw the bullet flying toward Mitsukai, and she could see the fear in his eyes. It made her chuckle darkly for a moment under her breath, until she saw him put his hands up, and once again, dust covered her surroundings. She narrowed her eyes to see what he was up to, but was unsure to what he was planning.

Curious to see if the bullet had hit him, she focused her eye more, through the sand, but it was too thick to fully see what he was attempting. She saw his hands in the air and she noticed that he seemed to be struggling with something. She was unsure with what though. She noticed that a strong force was coming in her direction and she quickly Sonido'd out of the area, getting away from the thickness of the pressure. She noticed from afar that Mitsukai was watching the area she once stood in and she laughed slightly. Fool, doesn't he know I'm not stupid enough to stay in one spot for too long? she raised her cannon.

She breathed in for a moment as she let her teeth show, forming a sadistic grin. She watched him for a moment longer before making her move. "I'll start out quietly... if my energy attacks are too slow, I'll give him a taste of my real power... Diablo Cohete`," she whispered as she pointed her cannon into the ground. While the sounds of the explosion near Mitsukai still roared, the sound of two rockets drilling into the ground sounded no different and were cancelled out by the explosion. The rockets started to drill toward Mitsukai in silence from the smooth sand. Aemi then decided to make her move as she quickly sonido'd forward him.

For a long moment of silence, the drills continued to head in his direction, and thats when Aemi appeared. 20 feet away, she started to laugh slightly, "Tirador Rifle," she muttered as she got herself ready. She quickly started to sonido around him at an intense speed, pointing her cannon in his direction. Bullets were releasing from the cannon at an intense speed with a loud roar and all were beginning to move toward Mitsukai quickly.

If Mitsukai were to notice these, he would have no choice but to move up, and while he did so, he would definitely be able to avoid the bullets Aemi shot from her cannon just now, but would leave the Rockets to drill from the ground and follow after him. Aemi waited patiently for him to make his move.
